One of the best parts of my job is I get to do handyman work.  See, I have been a bug guy since 1982 or so, but I have ALWAYS been a Mr. Fix-It.  With a family that included 2 carpenters and an electrician and a best friend of 30 plus years who is now a Master Plumber, I spent most of the last four decades learning one or another of the building trades.  You'd think I would have done one of those for a living, but life is weird.  Anyway, what did not become a job DID become a passion, so I got into remodeling for fun and sometimes profit as well as to make every house I have lived in more of a home.  Nowadays I know how to do just about anything and I own more tools than I care to admit.  So, I offer handyman services.  And before any of the contracting companies gets all in a tizzy... I am fully insured and I only do the small stuff that the "Pros" can't be bothered with.  And the Handyman stuff ties right into the Home Inspection side of the business.  Since I know how to do all these things, I also know what to look for when you're buying a house.

Anyway, I pretty much do it all... plumbing, wiring, carpentry, doors and windows, decks and railings.  Mostly I like the fixing as opposed to the building.  If it requires a permit you probably want a contractor because that is going to be a larger job than I care to get involved with.  For example: I'll happily install a new door for you.  But if you want to change all your doors and windows, you want a contractor.  I'll change your faucet or repair that broken light switch, but if you want a whole new kitchen or to rewire your basement, you want a plumber or an electrician.   I feel kind of like Dr. Scott on Star Trek... "Damnit Jim, I'm a bug man, not a roofer!"

Come back here to look for recommended suppliers also!  I have some friends in the various businesses whom I think very highly of.  I will get nothing from referring these people (except a warm fuzzy feeling) but I will feel good about being able to add value to the client relationship by helping you find people you can count on. I will be setting up a list.  Anyone who makes my list will be someone with whom I have direct personal experience or substantial positive feedback on from my clients.  Appearance on my list simply signifies that I think highly of this company or individual and is in no way an endorsement or assumption of liability.
